About me!
I've been dedicated to excellence in clinical care, service, and leadership throughout my career. From hospital based clinical exercise and wellness programming to DI collegiate athletics to private practice, I've built lasting programs and coached athletes of all kinds. WIthin my profession, giving back is a priority. I've served in many different capacities at the local, state, and national levels including preceptor and mentor to many wonderful students, colleagues, and peers.
With specialties in eating disorders and weight class sports, I've had ample opportunity to confront challenging issues and have seen first hand how courageous leaders willing to tackle difficult problems foster health and great performances. It's inspiring working with administrators and staff who care deeply about both. With additional tenures in veterans healthcare, pediatric nutrition, inpatient eating disorders treatment, and service in the United States Army Reserves, my depth and breadth of experience has me well positioned to help others. Services
Organizational Consulting
Are you an Athletic Director or High Performance Director wanting to establish a new program or assess an existing one? Make sure your department is well organized and prepared to excel. Consult with me on evaluating organizational structure, policies and procedures, staff qualifications, job descriptions, and strategic planning. As a still emerging specialty in athletic medicine and human performance, sports nutrition has endured some growing pains and inappropriately utilized staff are a liability and waste of resources. Conversely, many schools and programs don't have access to sports nutrition services and need creative solutions to providing care and crafting protective policies and guidelines.
Leading an incredible group of authors and contributors from AMSSM, NATA, and CSCCa to publish guidelines on the provision of nutrition care in collegiate athletics has been a highlight of my career. Combined with my clinical and programmatic experience, I am uniquely positioned to help departments and early career sports dietitians fine tune their operations and standards of practice. Reach out to discuss your needs.
For coaches, team managers, or other athletics administrators (SWA's, compliance, academic and life skills) interested in team nutrition services or coaching education, I would be thrilled to provide your coaching and clinical staff with tailored education and training. Using a train the trainer approach, sessions are designed to cultivate cross-discipline alignment and help everyone better communicate evidenced based nutrition information, especially if your program doesn't have access to a full-time sports dietitian. Make sure your staff are informed on best practices to prevent nutrition related problems like supplement misuse, poor fueling, inadequate recovery, and increased risk for injuries and eating disorders. Schedule a discovery call to discuss your needs.

Clinical Supervision for Sports Dietitians
I would not be where I am without inspiring colleagues, mentors, and supervisors. If you're an early career sports dietitian or new to eating disorders work with significant responsibilities in this area, professional supervision will be invaluable in elevating your practice. It was for me. I am providing individual and group supervision using a community-supported model with sessions starting Fall of 2023. Some organizations and departments will cover supervision using professional development resources. If you need help framing that request, feel free to reach out.
I am not IADEP certified by choice. If you need supervision hours with a certified supervisor to complete your own certification requirements, please use IADEP's supervisor search resource online. More amazing sports RDs are becoming certified supervisors. I highly recommend verifying potential supervisors have experience in sports and athletic medicine to avoid disconnect some providers experience when they don't understand the unique pressures and problems encountered in sports, the performing arts, or military settings.

Performance Nutrition Coaching
I coach athletes from all sports, backgrounds, and levels of competition. My philosophy is rooted in teaching athletes to trust the wisdom of their own bodies ultimately allowing for healing, recovery, and outstanding performances. Constant scrutiny and monitoring via rigid training plans and data analytics take us out of our embodied experience decreasing our ability to trust ourselves. This often leads to under-fueling and poor recovery and their associated consequences. Learning to use information wisely along with evidenced-based fueling strategies and tactics can elevate your performance, while honoring your unique needs as an individual. All coaching starts with personalized assessments and recommendations followed by monthly and seasonal support.
My favorite athletes to work with are learning to fuel well while bringing balance to their relationships with food, exercise, and their body. They may also be solving clinical sports nutrition problems like Relative Energy Deficiency (RED-S) anemia, bone injuries, or GI dysfunction. I have specialty experience working with weight class and combat arts athletes and thoroughly enjoy bringing advanced techniques to this group of amazing athletes! Caring for athletes across the full spectrum of eating concerns is an area of expertise and if you have concerns about your eating or need support with recovery, I am honored to help.
Insurance: I am not-in network with any insurance companies. If you wish to use insurance, I will provide you with a superbill that contains all the information you need to submit claims. Inquire about CPT codes 97802, 97803, and 97804 to verify your benefits in advance.
